Difference

A woman tourist in Florida was admiring an Indian’s necklace. “What are those things?” she asked. “Alligator teeth, ma’am,” replied the Indian.
“Oh, I see. I suppose they have the same value for your people that pearls have for us.”
“Not quite,” he answered gravely. “Anyone can open an oyster.”

Wrong Interpretation

A scientist was examining the nature of grasshoppers. He set about with his experiments with a grasshopper and a measuring scale. He made a grasshopper jump and it jumped six inches. He plucked out one leg and it jumped five. One more leg plucked and it jumped only four inches. As each leg came out, it jumped lesser and lesser. Once all its six legs had been plucked out, it would not jump at all.

The scientist’s aid noted down all the conclusions one by one. Finally, he noted the results of the study: ‘As each leg of a grasshopper is detached, it gets deafer and deafer. And once you pluck out the last leg, it becomes stone deaf because despite repeated instructions in a loud voice, it fails to jump.’

A wrong interpretation would surely lead to wrong conclusion.
