A girl was walking along a country road with her grandfather. They came upon a garden fence that was covered with beautiful roses. Taking a deep breath, the girl said, “grandpa, do you get the smell of these roses? Aren’t they nice?” Then they heard the voice of an elderly lady who was sitting on the veranda of her house. “Take all you want,” the voice said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So they took a rose each and thanked the lady and praised her for her beautiful flowers.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
A family had difficulty finding a house to rent in a new city. They were living in a hotel until they could find a permanent residence.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the lobby of the hotel one day, another guest said to the little girl of the family, “It’s too bad you haven’t a home.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The alert child answered, “Oh, we do have a home. All we need is a house to put it in.”</div>

Every great achievement was once impossible until someone set a goal to make it a reality.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lewis Carroll’s famous masterpiece Through the Looking Glass contains a story that exemplifies the need to dream the impossible dream. There is a conversation between Alice and the queen, which goes like this:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I can’t believe that!” said Alice.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“Can’t you?” the queen said in a pitying tone. “Try again, draw a long breath, and shut your eyes.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Alice laughed. “There’s no use trying,” she said. “One can’t believe impossible things.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“I dare say you haven’t had much practice,” said the queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When you dare to dream, many marvels can be accomplished. The trouble is, most people never start dreaming their impossible dream.</div>

<b>1. Keep your energy levels high.</b> Although it is important to leave a reasonable amount of time to study, it is more important to have the energy necessary for optimizing your studies.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. 50-10 rule.</b>  The basis of it is to study 50 minutes of every hour, and keep the last 10 minutes to clear your mind.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>3. Organize a calendar.</b> In this calendar you should add not only the time period of each exam, but also try to separate the hours that you wish to dedicate to each subject.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>4. Create study guides one week before the final.</b> Prepare your outlines or guides one week prior to the exams so you can just read the organized material and be able to answer the questions quickly and effectively.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>5. Study in groups only if it benefits you.</b> Studying in groups can be beneficial, however it only works well if you are concentrated and serious.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>6. Relax. Keep your stress levels low. </b>You will do better on the exams if you sleep 7-9 hours a day</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>7. Do a practice quiz.</b> Ask your parents or your brothers and sisters to quiz you about the material you are studying.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>8. Exercise and eat healthy.</b> Exercise and good nutrition can not only help control your stress levels, but it can also maintain your emotions stable.</div>

The world bestows its big prizes, both in money and honours, for but one thing. And that is Initiative. What is Initiative? It is doing the right thing without being told.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But next to doing the thing without being told is to do it when you are told once. That is to say, “carry the Message to Garcia.” Those who can carry a message get high honours, but their pay is not always in proportion.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Next, there are those who never do a thing until they are told twice: such get no honours and small pay.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Next, there are those who do the right thing only when necessity kicks them from behind, and these get indifference instead of honours, and a pittance for pay. This kind spends most of its time polishing a bench with a hard-luck story.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then, still lower down in the scale than this, we have the fellow who will not do the right thing even when someone goes along to show him how and stays to see that he does it: he is always out of a job, and receives the contempt he deserves.</div>

My father-in-law Sergeant Shriver, who started during the Kennedy Administration and Johnson Administration, gave a speech at the Yale University, and he said it very clearly when he said to the students, ‘Tear down that mirror. Tear down that mirror that makes you always look at yourself. Tear down that mirror and you will be able to look beyond and you will see the millions and millions of people that need your help.’</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Helping others and looking beyond that mirror is my measure of greatness today. That’s what makes me feel good about myself, and I can tell you today I’d rather go to an after-school programme and help a little girl and play chess with her than going down another red-carpet at a movie premiere.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You should be hungry to make your mark, and you should be hungry to be seen and to be heard and to have an effect out there but as you move on and become successful make sure to also stay hungry for helping others and looking beyond that mirror. Start with simple things, like coaching a school soccer team, or helping a child learn to read, or deliver meals to someone who is homebound.</div>

One day a German sergeant called eight soldiers to shoot the eight innocents.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Among the eight soldiers there was the private, Joseph Schultz. When they were lined up for shooting, Joseph walked towards the Yugoslavians and joined hands with them. His sergeant called after him and ordered him to come back, but he pretended not to hear him. The sergeant yelled, “Fire!” And the private Joseph died, mingling his blood with those innocent men and women.</div>

Benjamin Disraeli once spoke about endurance, giving a striking example. He said, “Have you never watched the stonecutter at work? He will hammer away at a rock for perhaps a hundred times without a crack showing in it. Then, at the 101st blow, the rock will split in two. It is not that one blow alone which accomplishes the result, but the hundred others that went before it as well.”</div>

Alexander the great was on his way to war with King Darius. 11 days of journey made the emperor and his troop weak and exhausted. Scarcity of water was a major problem.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After some time they saw some Macedonians carrying water on their donkeys. Alexander approached them and asked, “For whom are you carrying this water?”</div>

The emperor was happy. As he was about to drink, he saw his soldiers looking at him hopefully. Without drinking water, the emperor said, “If I drink this water, my soldiers will surely become weaker.”</div>

Richard W. Gilder, the biographer, once boarded a train. He knew that President Cleveland was travelling in the same train. As he had something important to communicate to the President, he began to look for him.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But a long and thorough search failed to show any sign of the President in the crowded coaches. At last Gilder went to the baggage car in order to question the conductor. There, to his great dismay, he found the nation’s chief Executive sitting on a crate with his back against the side of the car. A woman with a baby had boarded the train, and Cleveland had offered his seat to her.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. The first step is never easy.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The beginnings to good things are always the hardest. The greatest miracle of your success in life will not be that you finished, it will be that you found the strength and courage to begin.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Good things rarely come quick and easy.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Life is not easy, but it’s worth it.  If you expect it to be, you will perpetually disappoint yourself.  Achieving anything worthwhile in life takes time and effort. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>3. You will always have less control than you desire.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The only thing you can absolutely control in life is how you react to things out of your control, and there’s a lot you can’t control.  The better you adapt to this reality, the more powerful your highs will be, and the more quickly you’ll be able to bounce back from the lows. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>4. You cannot avoid risk without avoiding life.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Living is a risk.  Happiness is a risk.  If you’re not a little scared sometimes, then you’re not doing it right.  Give yourself permission to be one of the people who survived doing things wrong, but recovered from them and grew into your truest self.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>5. Your biggest problems are often in your head.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The primary cause of unhappiness and defeat is never the current situation but your thoughts about it.  Happiness and success really comes down to two elements: the way you think and the way you act based upon your thoughts.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>6. Long-term happiness cannot be bought; it must be earned.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Each of us has a unique fire in our heart for something that makes us feel alive.  It’s your duty to find it and keep it lit.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>7. Not everyone will support you.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you take every insult or rude slur of your fellow human beings personally, you will be offended for the rest of your life. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>8. You are better off without some people you care about.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Be okay with giving the gift of your absence to those who do not appreciate and respect your presence.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>9. You cannot have happiness without some sadness.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is no such thing as a one-sided coin in life, with which you can buy a pain-free, trouble-free life. Life is a series of highs and lows — an adventure that requires you to take chances and actions that have the possibility of both success (happiness) and failure (sadness). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>10. What’s done is done, but life goes on.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With everything that has happened, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift of knowledge. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Years ago there was a group of brilliant young men at the University of Wisconsin, who seemed to have amazing creative literary talent. They were would-be poets, novelists and essayists. These men were merciless with one another. They dissected the minutest literary expression into a hundred pieces. They were heartless, tough, even mean in their criticism, and this exclusive club called themselves the ‘Stranglers’.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Not to be outdone, the women of literary talent in the university were determined to start a club of their own, one comparable to the Stranglers. They called themselves the ‘Wranglers’. They, too, read their works to one another. But there was one great difference. The criticism was much softer, more positive, more encouraging. Sometimes, there was almost no criticism at all.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Twenty years later an alumnus of the university was doing an exhaustive study of his classmates’ careers when he noticed a vast difference in the literary accomplishments of the Stranglers as opposed to the Wranglers. Of all the bright young men in the Stranglers, not one had made a significant literary accomplishment of any kind. From the Wranglers had come six or more successful writers, some of national renown such as Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, who wrote The Yearling.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What made the difference? The Stranglers strangled, while the Wranglers were determined to give each other a lift. The Stranglers promoted an atmosphere of contention and self-doubt. The Wranglers highlighted the best, not the worst.</div>

Every name is called a NOUN,<br />
As field and fountain, street and town.<br />
     In place of noun the PRONOUN stands<br />
     As he and she can clap their hands.<br />
The ADJECTIVE describes a thing,<br />
As magic wand and bridal ring.<br />
     The VERB means action, something done -<br />
     To read, to write, to jump, to run.<br />
How things are done, the ADVERBS tell,<br />
As quickly, slowly, badly, well.<br />
     The PREPOSITION shows relation,<br />
     As in the street, or at the station.<br />
CONJUNCTIONS join, in many ways,<br />
Sentences, words, or phrase and phrase.<br />
     The INTERJECTION cries out, ‘Hark!<br />
     I need an exclamation mark!’<br />
Through Poetry, we learn how each<br />
of these makes up THE PARTS OF SPEECH.</div>

Long before John Grisham’s name became synonymous with the modern legal thriller, he was working 60-70 hours a week at a small law practice in Missippi, squeezing in time before going to the office and during courtroom breaks to work on his first novel.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Grisham’s father was a cotton farmer and itinerant construction worker. By his own account, he had no interest in writing until after he embarked on his professional career. After abandoning a youthful dream of a professional baseball career, he settled down for a career as a tax lawyer. While in law school, his interest shifted from tax law to criminal law and litigation.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Grisham’s maiden novel A Time To Kill was rejected by 28 publishers before he found an unknown publisher who was willing to print a short run. Without the benefit of a major publisher’s marketing apparatus, the novice author went directly to booksellers, encouraging them to stock his book. Although his first novel sold a disappointing 5,000 copies, Grisham had already begun work on a second novel The Firm which has sold more than seven million copies. Gradually, many more best-sellers were added to his credit.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today John Grisham is an internationally known best-selling author of legal thrillers. Several of them have been made into blockbuster films.</div>

A young boy left his home in search of truth. He met many people; he became richer in awareness of his ignorance. Since people went to forests to meditate, he too went to a thick forest. He did not know how to meditate. So he screamed at the forest to give him knowledge. For years his only mantra was screaming at the forest to give him knowledge. He believed that if you are committed, existence will help you.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
One day, a monk came to him. He asked: ”What do you want, my son?” “I want to know what the meaning of life is,” he replied. “Go to the town. The first three persons that you meet will give you the meaning of life,” the monk replied.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The boy went to the town. The first man he met was doing carpentry work. The next man he met was doing sheet metal work. The third man he met was making strings. Disappointed, he sat on the bank of a river. Suddenly, he heard the sweet strains of violin music. Something mysterious touched him. He suddenly got the answer he was looking for and he started dancing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The carpenter was preparing the wood for the violin. The sheet metal worker was preparing metal for the strings and the strings were meant for the violin. Life has everything; all you need is to be able to connect the dots. You need to work out new combinations. And for that you need creative perception.</div>
