Buddhism: Riches ruin the foolish, but not those in quest of the beyond. Through craving for riches the ignorant man ruins himself as he does others (Dhammapada 355).

Christianity:The love of money is the root of all evils and there are some who, pursuing it, have wandered away from the faith and so given their souls any number of fatal wounds (1 Timothy 6:10).

Hinduism: Seek refuge in the attitude of detachment and you will amass the wealth of spiritual awareness (Bhagavad Gita 2:49).

Islam: Woe is he… who has gathered riches and counted them over, thinking his riches have made him immortal (Qur’an 104, 1-3).

Jainism: Even were the wealth of the entire world bestowed on a man, he would not be happy: contentment is difficult to attain (Uttaradhyayana Sutra 8:16).

Sikhism: Who is proud of his wealth and landed property: He is a fool, blind and ignorant (Ragu Gauri, Mahala V.)
