Love
Buddhism: Even three times a day to offer Three hundred cooking pots of food Does not match a portion of the merit Acquired in one instant of love. (Nagarjuna, Precious Garland 283).
Christianity: Love is always patient and kind; love is never jealous; love is not boastful or conceited, it is never rude and never seeks its own advantage, it does not take offence or store up grievances. Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but finds its joy in the truth. It is always ready to make allowances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes (Corinthians 13:1-7).
Hinduism: In the beginning love arose, this was the primal germ cell of the mind (Rig Veda 10:29).
Islam: You will not attain piety until you expend of what you love; and whatever thing you expend, God, the knower of it (Qur’an 3, 92).
Jainism: Rendering help to others is the function of all human beings (Tattvarthasutra 5:21).
Sikhism: Life devoid of love is a flower blooming in the wilderness, with nobody to enjoy its fragrance (Kabirji, Gauri Rag).
