1. Manage expectations
Often when we feel impatient it is because we were expecting things to go differently than they are going. It can be helpful to ask ourselves if our expectations are realistic and/or helpful.

2. Apply compassion to yourself and others
Instead of judging ourselves for our impatient episodes, we can acknowledge that we want to approach things differently next time and acknowledge that we are struggling.

3. Call on your creative powers
Many people find that having a creative outlet such as playing music, painting, or writing is an excellent way to release emotions and take care of themselves.

 4. Ask for help
Talking with supportive friends or family can be a great way to release emotions, gain perspective, and come up with new solutions to our challenges.

5. Gain perspective
Sometimes life feels overwhelming and we lose perspective. In those times, take a deep breath and remind yourself of the many times you’ve faced challenges and overcome them. Talk with or read about other people who’ve had similar struggles and learn how they got through them.
