An efficiency expert at Fort Motors was once making his report to Henry Ford. “As you will see, Sir, the report is highly favourable, except for that man down the hall. Every time I pass by, he’s sitting with his feet on his desk. He’s wasting your money.
Henry Ford merely smiled and said, “That same man once had an idea that earned us a fortune. At the time, I believe his feet were exactly where they are now.”

A Swiss journalist, who had worked hard all his life and earned a lot of fame and money decided to retire. His last interview was to be with the new Italian Prime Minster, Alcide de Gaspei. After the interview was over, and both of them settled down for some tea and informal talk, the journalist causally remarked, “This is my last interview. I am 65 and about to retire.”
The Prime Minister remarked, “Oh! What a pity, I am 65 too, but on the threshold of a new career.”

Indira Gandhi was fond of reading books. She read about Joan of Arc and was profoundly inspired by the tale of her martyrdom. Once when a teacher asked her what she would like to be, hoping she would say ‘a teacher or a lady doctor or a lawyer like Portia’, she replied, “I would like to be someone like Joan of Arc.”
